Dog owner’s lawsuit says cat thief broke into house with a broken shotgun and stole a cat

Posted March 03, 2019 05:27:48A dog owner in New York City filed a federal lawsuit on Thursday alleging a cat thief took the dog with him and was arrested after the cat was taken from her owners’ home.

The lawsuit, filed in federal court in Manhattan, accuses a man and woman from Queens of breaking into the home on Feb. 4, 2018.

It claims they left the dog in the home while the thieves were gone and that the dog was left on the property for several days without food or water.

The man is also charged with felony animal cruelty.

The woman, who has not been identified, has been charged with misdemeanor animal cruelty, the suit said.

The suit was filed in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York and does not specify a specific damages figure.

It is seeking unspecified monetary damages and attorney fees.

The dog’s owner has said the dog is in good health.
